The students of the 2nd course (Russian-Dagestan Department) gathered on the 14th of September to discuss the problems of hard skills and soft skills when a person is looking for a job. In recent years in the connection with the transformations in all spheres of our society, the status of a foreign language as a subject has changed. The expansion of international relations has made a foreign language really in demand by the state, society and individual.

Have you got the skills you need for the 21st-century workplace?

We need to develop all kinds of skills to survive in the 21st century. Some, like ICT skills and knowledge of the digital world, are taught explicitly in schools in the UK. Here are five less obvious ones for you to think about. These are the sorts of skills that employers may ask you questions about in interviews, so it’s a good idea to think about how good you are in these areas. What are your strengths and weaknesses?

lasses in English language circle will help the students to improve their knowledge, skills and abilities and make sure of the practical importance of a foreign language in organizing communication, acquiring additional information, and spending usefully their free time. What is fake news? Why is it so hard to disprove? Who creates it, and why? The 1st year students (Journalistic Department) came to English circle on the 13th of October to analyze some articles and to find it out.

A passage from the article under discussion: “In December 2016 Edgar M. Welch drove six hours from his home to Washington DC, where he opened fire in a pizzeria with an assault rifle. He had previously read an online news story about the restaurant being the headquarters of a group of child abusers run by Hillary Clinton. He decided to investigate for himself; fortunately, no one was hurt.”
